FUTURESHOCK: CRYWOLF Preview

This Sunday sees Futureshock Wrestling returning to the Stockport Masonic Hall, with the Manchester based company putting on ‘Futureshock: CRYWOLF’. Three titles will be on the line, with a return match for the Women’s title, as well as the Tag Belts and the main event having Joe Blazr up against one of the UK’s top stars today in Kid Lykos, as he looks to defend his Futureshock heavyweight title.

Blazr will be looking to keep that Futureshock belt around his waist come Sunday night, though he faces a very different challenge from his two previous title defences, as wins over HT Drake and Briac Strong respectively, has been against two men that were both stronger and even taller than him. His opponent on Sunday is the ‘Sh*twolf’ and will be a very different challenge to those two men previously mentioned, with Lykos matching Joe in many ways. They are both evenly matched and have experience in title matches, with Kid Lykos having a breakout year in 2023 and winning the Futureshock Championship would be a great start to 2024. No doubt, this will be a thrilling match for sure, with a certain ‘Genius’ keeping a close eye on events.

DOCTOR PROCTOR V C.P REILLY

Speaking of the ‘Genius’, it sees the Futureshock Trophy winner of 2023 in C.P Reilly having his hands full with the resident doctor at FS in Doctor Proctor. Reilly’s shock win last December in that Final-4-way has guaranteed him a shot at a title, but no doubt the ‘knowledgeable one’ will be thinking long and hard on when he will challenge for the title. But before he fights for any belts, he will have to deal with the upcoming Doctor Proctor, as the youngster will have a point to prove in this match. If you remember, he was taken out by his semi final opponent Nate Reese in the Final-4-way Trophy contest, so no doubt DR.P has a prescription for an Ass-kicking and will look to pepper his opponent come Sunday.

FUTURESHOCK WOMEN’S TITLE : HARLEY HUDSON v LEAH RAVEN (C)

In a rematch from last month’s Lotto Thunder event in Manchester, it sees the newly crowned champion in Leah Raven defending her title against the woman she beat for it, all ‘Nine Stone of Scouse Girl Power’ in Harley Hudson. It saw the TNA Gut check winner taking out the ‘Empress Of Anarchy’ at November’s Nowhere To Hide event, before a fit again Leah Raven responded in the best way possible and took the title away from her foe at Lotto Thunder just last month at the Union. Liverpool’s favourite sister in Hudson, will no doubt be after revenge and wanting to win back her old title. Meanwhile, the champion in Raven will not want to be losing straight away, but one thing for sure, is that it will be an exciting new chapter to add to this growing rivalry involving two of the UK’s rising stars.

FS Tag Team Titles: NORTH WEST SAVIORS (C) v ACT 2

Nate Reese v Ginha & The Meat Wagon RETURNS

The Tag Team Champions of Max Brooker & Rizman Khan aka the North West Saviours, will look to make a second defence of their tag titles, as they face Act Two who haven’t wrestled at Futureshock since last June. Speaking of the Tag division, The Meat Wagon make their return to the Futureshock ring, as the team formerly known as ‘Sinergy’ haven’t wrestled on a FS show since their stunning win against the Grizzled Young Veterans back in December. Otherwise on the card it sees a potential sleeper match with the experienced Nate Reese taking on the ‘Emo Luchador’ in Ginha. Ginha impressed massively on his Futureshock debut last month, as while he lost out to Matty Tucker in the quarter final of the Lotto Thunder tournament, it should be a very entertaining battle at Crywolf.

CHRIS EGAN V CHRIS RIDGEWAY

Last, but by certainly no means least, the former Futureshock champion in Chris Ridgeway will bring his no-nonsense, hard hitting strong style technical abilities to Stockport, as he will look to dish out some more pain. It’s also seen on the social media in recent weeks that Ridgeway has hinted at possibly going for the Adrenaline title, a belt that is the only one to elude him from completing the whole FS set. His opponent, or unlucky victim standing across the ring from him, is that of Futureshock Original in the ‘Pride of Denton’ Chris Egan, as the experienced Egan will know what to expect and wouldn’t be fearful of the task at hand.

The card itself is easily one of the best cards put together in some time for me, as both the Men’s and Women’s title matches will no doubt be great, while the tag titles and other matches more than pad this event out for me. Personally, I cannot wait for the show to take place in Stockport on Sunday, and if you haven’t got tickets get them!
