SALFORD CITY WRESTLING – CORONATION: Preview

SALFORD CITY WRESTLING: CORONATION @ PENDLEBURY SOCIAL CLUB, SALFORD – Friday

This Friday night at the Pendlebury Social Club sees Salford City Wrestling returning with their second show titled Coronation — and sees the new promotion celebrating back-to-back sell out shows, as following their debut show, this coming Friday sees another sold out crowd on hand to.

The Main Event sees two men who competed in a triple threat match to crown the first ‘King of Salford’, as Troy Ryan faces local favourite Jack Johnson, where it saw him taken out Dave Birch’s tag partner in Forbidden Planet, Aiton Steen, and had Ryan pinning Birch to become the first ever King. On a night that many felt should have belonged to Salford’s own Jack Johnson in the tournament final on home turf, instead it saw Troy Ryan taking the glory, but both men will want to prove to the other this coming Friday who the true King of Salford really is.

We’ll see three men who all suffered losses in the ‘King of Salford’ tournament last year in Philip Michael, ‘The Vigilante’ Bentley, and Aiton Steen, as they meet in a Triple Threat Match with all three having very different styles amongst the trio. Be it the dangerous high-flying Steen, the technical prowess of Michael, or just the brute strength of Bentley, this will be a hell of a contest for sure.

Following her controversial victory on the opening show against Alfiee, ‘The Ice Queen’ herself, Lily Winter, saw her being drowned out by the crowd last time out when having the microphone in her hand, so will we get to hear what she has in store for the Women’s division moving forward in SCW?

Speaking of that controversial match, it saw Alfiee being screwed out of a debut win thanks to Lily Winter, who used Alfiee’s own teddy bear DeeDee on her to score the win, so will we see the crowd favourite bounce back? Her opponent, on the other hand, is the ‘21st Century Liability’ in Natalie Sykes, as she has just returned from the United States this week after an impressive stint on a Tour of Texas. While Sykes is known to throw a tantrum or two (or three), despite the bratty and mouthy behaviour of ‘The 21st Century Liability,’ when the bell sounds, she is one very dangerous customer.

Since the formation of Salford City Wrestling, it has seen two men in Nishiki and Joe Young, also known as the Bigger Picture, as they’ve been vocal about SCW management and airing their disgruntlement. Despite SCW giving them a match last show, which they lost, they attacked their opponents afterward and saw the powers-that-be tired of their banter online and moaning, so they’ve given them another match, this time against people with real banter in Uncle Ryan, ‘The Stallion’ Tom Thelwell, and Danny Proper—‘The Banter Bus.’.

Also on the card, the ‘Star Killer’ Dave Birch returns to an SCW ring and faces a debutant in ‘the Unforgettable’ Andre Dekker, as the two men square off for the first ever time in a one-on-one contest. Birch will need to use all his quickness and know-how against a bigger, stronger adversary in Dekker, as Andre will no doubt be wanting to leave an impression on his first night and have his opponent unable to forget the man nicknamed ‘the Unforgettable’.

Last but by no means least on the card, sees two more debuts on this Coronation card, as ‘The Undeniable One’ Jensen Vesper will look to back up his words having run down his opponent in a video, but he may be in for a rude awakening. Across from him is the fun-loving ‘Zuba-Weight’ Jack Baron, a man who is full of surprises and will no doubt want to shut up the annoying Vesper and his ‘Vesperados’ (Please Jack!).
